Frelimo general secretary Roque Silva Samuel visited Mangunde, in Chibabava, on Friday with the aim of greeting the régulo [ traditional chief] and conveying greetings from the President of the Republic. The visit was part of Roque Silva’s tour of Sofala province.
The father of the late Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama thanked the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, for his support.
Macacho Marceta Dlhakama also commented on the head of state securing him special care when he was recently hospitalised at Beira Central Hospital.
He took the opportunity to express some concerns regarding the condition of his residence, which he said had lately been leaking, and also asked for a ‘chieftaincy [regulado’] subsidy, a water source, a tractor, and improvement of the access road, among others things.
The father of the deceased Renamo leader received from the Secretary General of Frelimo some essential food products, and in return offered him a goat.
Macacho Marceta Dlhakama is 82 years old, says that he has more than 60 children and does not remember how many grandchildren.
