The military census launched on Tuesday aims to register 170,000 young people country-wide, 13,000 of them in Maputo alone.
In Maputo itself, 69 polling stations have been set up installed and 140 personnel deployed. By the early hours of Tuesday morning, the influx of young people into the main military recruitment centre was already evident.
In order to register, youngsters must show a photocopy of their identity card and proof of residence.
Although the census has begun Maputo, census stations in municipal districts will only come into operation from the 6th of this month, after the official launch in the municipal district of ka Mavota.
