Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama has sent his condolences to the family of former head of state Armando Guebuza on the death of his daughter, Valentina Guebuza, condemning the murder as “brutal violence”.
“I want to address my condolences to the whole family and to Armando Guebuza and his wife. I share the pain they feel,” Dhlakama said in an interview published yesterday by the Canal de Mocambique
In an allusion to the rivalry between Frelimo and Renamo, Afonso Dhlakama said it was essential to know how to distinguish the two situations.
“I know the pain of losing a daughter in those circumstances. I can imagine the suffering of the Guebuza family,” said the leader of the main opposition party.
Valentina Guebuza was shot and killed at her residence on the 14th by her husband, Zófimo Muiuane, who is in custody.
