As part of its Labour Market Preparation Programme (PPMT), Vale Mozambique, in partnership with the Alberto Cassimo Institute for Vocational Training and Labour Studies (IFPELAC), last November 29th graduated over 150 young people from various technical-professional courses.
One such graduate, Stela Renoso, trained in equipment maintenance, welcomed the partnership between Vale and IFPELAC in promoting actions aimed at the development of young local people. “These opportunities will help us grow professionally, so I am happy to be in the group that graduated today,” she said.
Representing Vale, Francisco Mbepe reaffirmed Vale’s commitment to supporting education in the communities where it operates.
“Vale celebrates 15 years of operations in Mozambique this year, and training and capacity building in support of local development have been one of its priorities right throughout this period. Vale understands that this makes it is possible to make a more assertive contribution to the growth of this country,” he commented.
The event was held at IFPELAC’s premises and, in addition to Vale’s representatives, was attended by representatives of the provincial government, civil society organisations, media organisations and representatives of private companies from different sectors.
Investing in people’s education and vocational training so that they are able to embrace diverse job opportunities offered by the labour market has always been and will always be a priority for Vale in Mozambique.
