Mozambique targets universal access to drinking water by 2029

Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Mozambique Bryan David Hunt argues that forensic and international auditing is the only way for Mozambique to regain the confidence of its international partners.
The United States is available to work with Mozambique to recover its image internationally, David says.
“We are hopeful that this international forensic audit will create the transparency and accountability necessary to ensure broad donor financial support for Mozambique,” he said.
Speaking in Quelimane at a lecture on ‘US Foreign Policy in the Government of Donald Trump’, David congratulated the government on the steps it is taking to determine the precise nature of public debt. “We welcome the Mozambican government’s boldness in agreeing to an international audit of the Proindicus, Ematum and MAM debts.”
