The President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, was among those participating in a high-level dialogue on ‘Enhancing Africa’s Value in Agricultural Value Chains’ at the US-Africa Business Summit in Gaborone, Botswana.
President Nyusi presented the characteristics of Mozambique, with its 36 million hectares of arable land, of which many are still unexploited, as itself already a primary potential, in addition to the abundance of rivers for irrigation and the presence of a willing workforce.
Filipe Nyusi also spoke of the existence of business incentives such as the ease of creation of investment vehicles and the reduction of fees and taxes to attract investors, pointing to these factors as making Mozambique a privileged destination for investors.
Among several other heads of state and government, the Mozambican president participated in the opening ceremony and initial plenary session, where the main focus was exchanges between governments and businessmen from diverse locales through the exhibition of their countries’ potential for attracting investment.
