Political analyst and university lecturer Mozambican Jaime Macuane was today injured by gunshots fired from unknown individuals in Marracuene district, Maputo province, southern Mozambique, reported the private channel STV, where the victim is a commentator.
According to STV, Macuane was shot in both legs and abandoned on the Maputo Ring Road and his car was taken by the attackers in Marracuene.
The News channel said that the commentator and professor of Political Science at the University Eduardo Mondlane was rescued by people in the area and taken to the Maputo Central Hospital, the largest in the country, from where he was transferred to the Private Hospital of Maputo, where he is in a “stable condition and under medical observation.”
Jaime Macuane is regularly asked by the media to comment on the Mozambican political situation and is also a resident commentator in the ‘Pontos de Vista’ program in STV, one of television debate programs most watched in the country.
