Mozambique: Police reintroduce road checkpoints
Unknown assailants still at large in the early hours of Wednesday 6 July murdered a 28-year-old man in a hair-dressing salon in Natite, in the city of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province.
According to reports, the deceased was killed by violent blows to the head, and his body then dismembered with a machete.
Witnesses say the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, had owned the establishment for only two weeks and had in that time already suffered two failed attempted robberies.
The property is located in a busy area, but no witnesses have as yet come forward. The criminals made off with a television and a satellite decoder.
