Unknown individuals murder police officer in Pemba

Unidentified assailants murdered a member of the Mozambique police near his home in the city of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province, on Tuesday (July 25).
The incident happened at dawn when the unlucky man, who was armed, was set upon by his attackers, who attacked him with knives and machetes.
Strangely, the man’s assailants then handed the victim’s gun to his daughter, who was present. This leaves the local police puzzled, since criminals commonly seize any weapon they find on victims.
It is thought that on the fateful night the policeman and his daughter were planning to go somewhere, but where is not known, as is the motive for the crime, which is under investigation by the local authorities.
