Mozambique: Bankruptcy of organic sugar plant EcoFarm leaves 800 unemployed
The US ambassador to Mozambique will launch agricultural sector investments worth US$38 million (EUR34.6 million euros) during a visit to the northern province of Nampula in the coming days.
A statement from the US embassy sent to Lusa news agency says the investments support small farmers and agribusiness in the provinces of Nampula and Zambezia.
In Nampula, Ambassador Pittman will inaugurate facilities of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture and participate in the launch of the new Resilient Agricultural Markets Activity.
The ambassador will also help launch an expansion of the Viable Sweet Potato Initiative for Africa project and meet members of Nampula provincial government in the provincial capital.
