The Director for the Regional Office for Africa in the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat), Oumar Sylla, is today and tomorrow paying a working visit to Cabo Delgado province.
Oumar Sylla will learn about UN-Habitat interventions made in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the coastal city of Pemba, with a view to strengthening urban resilience and improving the living conditions of displaced and host communities, ‘Notícias’ reports.
During this visit, the rehabilitation of public infrastructures, livelihood mechanisms and social integration, especially for women and girls, will be the focus of attention.
Still in Mozambique, the UN-Habitat director for Africa plans to meet government representatives in Maputo and take part in a round table with cooperation partners.
