U.S. Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield met on Thursday [September 21, 2023] with the Foreign Minister of Mozambique, Verónica Macamo, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation on the United Nations Security Council, including on matters such as Haiti, North Korea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and Foreign Minister Macamo discussed the ongoing crisis in Sudan and Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield shared insights from her recent visit to the Chad-Sudan border and her interactions with refugees fleeing mass atrocities.
