A traffic accident on National Road Number One in Marracuene district, Maputo province, this Wednesday afternoon killed one person, seriously injured three, and left two others with minor injuries.
Police authorities say the minibus involved in the accident, the second in the area in less than 24 hours, suffered major damage when it hit the rear of a Tata truck.
On Wednesday morning, another accident in the same area had left three persons seriously injured and 19 with minor injuries.
Police say excessive speed and unsafe overtaking may have been the cause of the accident, complaining generally of recklessness on the roads.
This accident occurred when a vehicle, previously seen travelling at high speed, hit another one travelling in the opposite direction.
