Two Mozambicans were beaten to death in Malawi, accused of being Covid-19 transmitters – Rádio Moçambique

Two Mozambicans were beaten to death on Sunday in Karonga district, Malawi, accused of being “transmitters of the new coronavirus,” Rádio Moçambique reports.

The sad scenario occurred in the early hours of Sunday, when the two murdered citizens, in the company of a third man who escaped death, were returning from Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania, where they had gone to pick up their vehicles which had arrived from Japan.

In the middle of the night, the trio came across a road block set up by a group of malefactors, who robbed some of their money and then allowed them to continue their journey.

Kilometres later, they found another road block where they were forced to leave all their belongings.

Then, they were sent back to where they had come from, having reached the first road block.

Arriving there, the malefactors took the three Mozambicans to the home of the local community leader. There, two of the Mozambicans were beaten to death and one managed to escape.

In addition to spreading the coronavirus, the three Mozambicans were allegedly accused of being blood-suckers.

The remains of the two men arrived in the city of Lilongwe on Sunday night and are awaiting for conditions to be put in place for their transfer to the city of Tete, where they are from.

The wave of rumours about the existence of blood suckers has rocked Malawi and a series of murders has been reported in the districts of Chitipa, Mzimba, Kasungu, Dowa, Mchinji and Karonga.

So far 37 people have been arrested by the police and according to investigations by the corporation, there is no tangible evidence that there are suckers in the country.

Dois moçambicanos foram espancados até a morte, este domingo no distrito de Karonga, no Malawi, acusados de serem os transmissores do novo coronavírus.

O triste cenário deu-se por volta das primeiras horas deste domingo, quando

as duas vítimas mortais, em companhia de mais uma, que escapou da morte, regressavam de Dar-es-Salam, onde iam buscar as suas viaturas chegadas do Japão.

A meio da noite, os três depararam-se com um road block criado por um grupo de malfeitores, que saquearam algum valor monetário e de seguida deixados prosseguir a viagem.

Quilómetros depois, encontraram mais um road block onde foram obrigados a deixarem todos os pertences que tinham.

De seguida foram mandados de volta de onde provinham, tendo chegado ao primeiro road block.

Chegados aqui, os malfeitores levaram os 3 moçambicanos até a casa do líder comunitário local, onde foram espancados até à morte dois moçambicanos. Um conseguiu escapulir-se.

Além do coronavírus, os três moçambicanos foram alegadamente acusados de serem homens chupa-sangue.

Os restos mortais dos dois moçambicanos chegaram à cidade de Lilongwe, na noite deste domingo e aguarda-se pela criação de condições de transladação dos mesmos para a cidade de Tete, donde são oriundos.

A onda de boato sobre a existência de homens chupa-sangue abalou o Malawi e uma série de assassinatos foi relatada nos distritos de Chitipa, Mzimba, Kasungu, Dowa, Mchinji e Karonga.

Até ao momento 37 pessoas foram presas pela polícia e segundo investigações feitas pela corporação, não há nenhuma evidência tangível que haja chupa-sangues, no país. ( RM Blantyre)
