Two individuals left a bag of human bones in a minibus en route from Angónia city to Tete on Wednesday. The alleged criminals went by minibus to the village of Chiandame and collected the bag in the vicinity of Água Boa.
Rádio Moçambique reported that the adult bones, wrapped in black plastics, were yesterday in safe keeping in the district police command. The minibus driver and conductor are in police custody, according to Moatize police commander Ernesto Calangue.
“At the moment we are taking steps to clarify the case, because we are told that the driver and the collector know where this bag comes from. They are in police custody while we find out who the owner of the bag is and where it was collected from. Because it was not on the way. They went to the house of someone asking how to get so they could collect it, because they said they had an order to collect,” the police commander said.
