Two children with albinism have been abducted in the last three days in Niassa province, Radio Moçambique reported today.
The children are 4 and 11 years old and were abducted in the districts of Cuamba and Lichinga respectively. In both cases, the perpetrators entered the victims’ homes and forcibly snatched the children.
Niassa police spokeswoman Joana Maquichone said that steps were being taken to apprehend the kidnappers and rescue the children.
“This is a recurrent issue in Niassa province. The police are working to identity the perpetrators of these crimes,” Radio Mozambique quotes her as saying.
