O País / Minister Carlos Mesquita suggests the transformation of paralyzed buses into classrooms
As is well known, Maputo and Matola’s public transport companies have a number of buses permanently off the road due to insoluble mechanical problems.
Now Minister of Transport and Communications Carlos Mesquita has come up with a plan to transform them into classrooms in order to reduce the number of students studying in the open.
“This could be a use for buses that are permanently out of service. We know that students sitting on the floor in the open is a social problem that worries everyone. Of course it will be necessary to make some adaptations, but the different parts of the bus can also be used in this regard,” Mesquita said.
