Truck fire halts Maputo-Katembe bridge traffic on Thursday- Watch

Traffic in both directions on the Maputo-Katembe bridge, in Maputo, was interrupted for around 30 minutes on Thursday (12), due to a fire which reduced to ashes the engine of a high-tonnage truck.
The vehicle’s driver and his assistants escaped unharmed. They themselves do not know the cause of the incident. The driver’s cabin was hit by flames.
The vehicle was on its way to the city of Matola carrying a backhoe loader.
The intervention of the firefighters prevented further damage.
