As of Thursday morning EDT, a weak tropical rainstorm is over the far northeastern Mozambique Channel and will drift westward across the northern Mozambique Channel over the next couple of days.
There is a low chance for development into a tropical storm over the Mozambique Channel before the system reaches the northern Mozambique coast later Saturday.
Regardless of any strengthening, rain, some heavy, will continue to impact northern Madagascar into Thursday night with heavy rain possible in northern Mozambique Friday night into Sunday.
