Military personnel making up the land, sea and air components of the Rapid Reaction Force, and trained during the fifth EUTM-MOZ training cycle, will be carrying out an exercise with forces already on the ground from the 19 to 27 March, a statement cited by Domingo reads.
This is the force trained at Katembe and Mavalane in the city of Maputo, and in Dondo, Sofala province, and it will have the opportunity to strengthen the relationship and interoperability of the three Rapid Reaction Force components, a press release from the General Staff of the Armed Defence Forces of Mozambique (FADM) indicates.

Interviewed by Radio Mozambique, the administrator of Maganja da Costa appealed to the population to remain calm, and not to misinterpret the exercises, given the situation that obtains in Cabo Delgado.
Meanwhile, the Maganja da Costa district government issued a press release on Monday (18-03), announcing that “in the afternoon of this Sunday, March 17, 2024, the first group of soldiers arriving in the District of Maganja da Costa arrived to participate in the final phase of the Rapid Reaction Forces military instruction course”.
The final phase of the course will take place on the outskirts of Lagoa Ruguria between March and April, and will be carried out by the Ministry of National Defence with the support of the European Union Mission.
The district government continues to appeal to the entire population of the district not to be alarmed by the movement of military personnel and war material that may occur in the district during the exercise.
The district government also emphasises that this military training is not associated with any political-military tension, but is normal training aimed at reinforcing the Defence and Security Forces.
