Traffic restrictions will be in force on seven avenues in the city of Maputo until next November, to enable the replacing of storm-water drains, with a view to improving the management of rainwater and waste water.
The interventions will last an estimated three months, and cover the avenues Mohamed Siad Barre, Maguiguana, Marien Ngouabi, Emília Daússe, Fernão de Magalhães, Josina Machel and Eduardo Mondlane.
A note from the Municipality of Maputo cited by ‘Notícias’ calls on residents, where possible, to use alternative routes to reduce traffic and ensure the safe mobility of people and goods on the sections in question.
The document highlights that a traffic management plan involving assistance from Municipal Police officers has been drawn up. Drivers should pay attention to temporary traffic signs and proceed with caution.
