Traffic restricted in downtown Maputo – Watch

Parts of central Maputo are being upgraded from this Thursday, September 10, and traffic will be restricted .
The entire Avenida Mártires de Inhaminga, from Praça dos Trabalhadores to Praça 25 de Junho, will be closed for parking, in an area which houses numerous institutions, with a consequent high demand for parking spaces.
Work will also include the rehabilitation of sidewalks on the section of Zedequias Manganhela Avenue between Avenida Guerra Popular and Avenida Alberto Lthuli, with traffic constraints expected to last 150 days.
Drivers will be looking for alternative routes, while pedestrians say that it will remain comparatively easy to find ways to reach their destinations.
The City Council is calling on pedestrians, and drivers in particular, for understanding and cooperation.
