Mozambique: Matlombe guarantees that the company hired to restructure LAM is fulfilling its contract
FACIM is an annual multi-sector trade fair organised by the Institute for Export Promotion (IPEX). In this event, national and foreign producers, salespersons, investors, importers, exporters and buyers have the opportunity to meet during one week in search of business opportunities.
In 2015, almost 3,500 companies from 31 Countries took part in FACIM and the fair registered around 95.500 visitors.
The expectation of the organisers for this year’s edition is to overcome the numbers of 2015 in terms of both visitors and exhibitors. The event will take place from August 29th to September 4th, in Ricatla, Marracuene district of Maputo province, located about 40km from the capital’s down town. The fair is to open from Monday to Thursday, 9am to 6pm; from Friday to Sunday: 9am to 7pm.
The main goal of FACIM is to showcase the participating companies, promoting their image, products and services at local, regional and international level. The Mozambique International Trade Fair targets not only the bigger companies, but also small and medium enterprises (SMEs). To encourage the participation of Mozambican companies, IPEX has established differentiated prices for national exhibitors. Therefore, local companies pay 3.965MT per square metre against the US$175 paid by foreign exhibitors. The registration deadline is just around the corner: July 31st, 2016.If you are still looking for reasons to take part in FACIM, here they are :
1. Easy and Affordable Registration Process
The application form, is available in simple format in the following link: http://bit.ly/facimprecos. You can download the form, fill it in and then submit it to IPEX that is located in Maputo, at 25 de Setembro Av. 1008, 2nd floor. In case you are not in Maputo, you can send an email enclosing the filled form to: [email protected] .There are two types of showrooms available: the space only and the space with stands. To rent only the indoor space, will cost 2.910.00mt/sqm for nationals and US$165/sqm for foreigners. The outdoor space, costs 1.780MT/sqm for nationals and US$105/sqm for foreigners.
The rental of a space with stands includes, aluminium structures, carpet, three spotlights, one table, two chairs, and the company’s name on the top front side. For national exhibitors, this indoor space costs 3.965MT/sqm, for foreigners US$175 /sqm. The amount already includes electricity taxes and weekly parking for one car.
2. Networking Platform
This event is traditionally attended by High profile visitors. Usually, the President of Mozambique participates in the opening ceremony, and the Prime Minister closes the fair. Regarding foreign representatives in Mozambique, the Ambassadors from France, Italy, and Germany have already confirmed their presence this year. This is also a platform where politicians, companies and business people can dialogue with members of the government from different cabinets. Since it’s a place where foreign and national companies come together, it is also the right moment to interact with each other and build up connections.
3. Business Promotion opportunity
According to the Directorate of the event , FACIM is the biggest international trade event of Mozambique and constitutes a great opportunity to promote companies’ services and expose their products to a large audience composed by both nationals and foreigners, since investors from different parts of the world come to the country to participate in the fair.
