The National Institute of Communications of Mozambique has announced that three million unregistered Mozambican cell phone numbers will be blocked between now and November.
The measure, which covers all three operators active in Mozambique, will come into force from Saturday and will be executed in phases.
The decision comes under a regulation approved by the government on the need to promote responsible use of SIM cards by capturing information about subscribers.
