Three teenagers claim they were physically assaulted by police in Matola last Friday on suspicion of having stolen a dog
Mindo, Jess and Gito, the fictitious names of the three teenage friends, allegedly suffered physical aggression by police in Matola’s Infulene neighbourhood with the aim of extracting a confession. The marks of the assault are still highly visible.
Documents issued by the police station where the three friends were allegedly assaulted so badly they required medical attention say they were victims of aggression.
After first attending the José Macamo General Hospital, the boys were referred to a legal medical examiner, where they must present themselves for a follow-up visit on July 4th.
The owners of the missing dog say they have no comment, while the families of the victims are questioning the police conduct.
