Terrorists attack Koko village in Macomia again – Carta

Thirteen days after being the target of terrorists’ fury for the first time, the village of Koko, located approximately 17 km from the village capital of Macomia district in Cabo Delgado, has again been the target of the terror inflicted in that part of the country, Carta de Moçambique reports
The attack took place last Sunday, thankfully without fatalities. Sources reported to ‘Carta’ the usual destruction of property, including the burning of huts and the looting of food, some of it donated by humanitarian organizations.
According to sources, three alleged terrorists were captured by the residents of Machova and Bangala II villages on Monday morning, and handed over to a unit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in Macomia.
According to reports, the three suspects are unknown in the region and were caught bathing in a stream near the village of Songeia, about four kilometres from Macomia town.
The capture of the three took place after the authorities on Sunday decreed a 6:00 p.m. curfew on the basis of information that terrorists would possibly attack the town during celebrations of the end of Ramadan.
