Terrorists attacked and set on fire two buses full of passengers and vehicles near the abandoned village of Pundanhar, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado on Tuesday, according to a report carried by the Portuguese news agency, Lusa
The buses were attacked on the dirt road between Mueda and Palma, the district where major liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects are being built. The ambush occurred about 50 kilometres west of Palma town.

When the drivers noted people moving in Pundanhar, they stopped the vehicles and advised the passengers to hide in the bush. When they returned they found that the buses had been looted and set on fire.
This followed a terrorist attack on Monday against the Palma village of Mute, about 25 kilometres from the Afungi Peninsula where the French oil and gas company Total is building LNG processing plants.
With helicopter support, the Mozambican defence and security forces retook control of Mute, but the villagers fled towards Palma town in search of safety. Teams working on construction of the LNG plants stopped their work on Tuesday on security grounds.
The independent newssheet “Carta de Mocambique” reported that on Wednesday a group of eight terrorists attacked the village of Chai in Macomia district where they looted a shop, and stole foodstuffs.
Nobody was killed or injured in this raid. The attack seems to confirm that the terrorists are running short of food.
