Proposals to create a new regime of tax benefits and general regulation of national cooperatives will be submitted to the Council of Ministers for consideration and approval by February.
To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) and the Tax Authority of Mozambique (AT), along with other institutions, are at the end of this month holding a final meeting with a view to harmonizing the document to be submitted to the government.
These measures are part of the implementation by the Tax Authority of the National Program for Cooperative Development (PNDC), an initiative launched last year to encourage better organization of the informal economy and, at the same time, ensure rapprochement between the tax authorities and contributors.
