Tanzania opposition leader Tundu Lissu defiant as he appears for treason trial

Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu appeared in court Monday for his latest hearing in a treason trial in which he faces a potential death penalty.

Having insisted on attending in person after previously appearing by video link, Lissu greeted supporters in the court, telling them: “We will be fine… Don’t worry at all,” according to an AFP reporter on the scene.
