South African rand drops to one-month low as tariff cloud hangs over interest rate decision
The kingdom of Swaziland is leading the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region in countries that are capable of providing electricity on a permanent basis to a large section of its citizens.
Ranked at position 6 in the continent, the country is followed by South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe, while Namibia is the fifth best country able to provide electricity to the majority of its citizens.
This is in accordance to a report titled, “Off-grid- or Of-on: Lack of access, unreliable electricity supply still plague majority of Africans,” which was recently released by Afrobarometer.

The list is in reference to the top African 20 countries capable of providing electricity on a permanent basis to a large section of their citizens.
Although, the list of these countries is dominated by North African countries that have the capacity to provide reliable electricity to most or all of their citizenry, Swaziland takes the first position in Southern Africa with a percentage reach of electricity at 97 percent.
