The Ambassador of China to Mozambique, Su Jian, has acknowledged that the suspension of travel visas between Mozambique and China may have an impact on trade between the two countries, Radio Mozambique reports.
However, the impact would be minor, Su Jian said in an interview with Radio Mozambique.
According to Chinese ambassador, the governments of the two countries remain committed to promoting trade and are still working to control the outbreak preventing the coronavirus reaching Mozambique.
Ambassador Su Jian indicated that 27 foreign nationals living in China had been diagnosed with the coronavirus, but none of the about 400 Mozambicans in China were among them.
The ambassador reflected with sadness that some countries were taking measures which did not promote unity among nations at a time when China was grappling with the new coronavirus.
