Mozambicans in Malawi cautiously look to return home

A Mozambican student was isolated in China for a few hours on suspicion of being infected with the coronavirus, but the results of her medical tests were negative and she was discharged. The clarification was given by Mozambican ambassador to China Maria Gustava, cited by ‘O País’ online this evening. This clarifies s a report brought this morning by daily newspaper ‘Notícias’ mentioning a “14-day quarantine”.
According to ‘O País’, the student in question did have a fever, one of the main symptoms of the disease, it points out. The health authorities in China reportedly decided to “isolate the patient” and, after a few hours of observation and medical tests, she was discharged.

In regard to the students who complain about the lack of food and products of first necessity, Maria Gustava says that there are no means to deliver any food products of first necessity to them, while promising to reinforce the conditions offered.
Maria Gustava called for calm and collaboration of all Mozambicans, to avoid unrest.
