Mozambique’s general elections in 2019 will cost an estimated 6.5 billion meticais (92 million Euros), a spokesman for the Council of Ministers announced yesterday.
That is the amount allocated in the draft 2019 State Budget approved at yesterday’s cabinet meeting and to be submitted to the Assembly of the Republic, Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Augusto de Sousa Fernando told press after the meeting.
The general elections scheduled for October 15, 2019 will be the country’s sixth and will include presidential, parliamentary and provincial assembly polls.
The new electoral cycle in Mozambique starts later this year, with the municipal elections scheduled for October 10.
