Mozambique: Government meets with South African-owned companies

Maputo Municipal Council and Standard Bank Mozambique today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of a project to remodel the sidewalk and gardens of Avenida 10 de Novembro, with a view to social sustainability and well-being. reads a press release issued by the Municipality.
Maputo Mayor Rasaque Manhique said on the occasion that the objective of the agreement is clear: to transform the landscape of Avenida 10 de Novembro for it to function as a point of convergence, leisure, relaxation and well-being, a place where families, young people and workers can enjoy moments of tranquillity in a healthier and more welcoming environment.
In turn, the CEO of Standard Bank Moçambique Bernardo Aparício explained that the implementation of this project will improve the quality of life of the city residents, offering a clear example of how Public-Private Partnerships should work and one which could be replicated for interventions in other public spaces in Maputo.
Avenida 10 de Novembro is one of the most iconic of the capital city, with a glorious view over the Bay of Maputo.
