Mozambique: Honey production helps families in national park buffer zone, keeps elephants away

The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) is forecasting strong winds, with moderate to heavy rain and severe thunderstorms, from this afternoon until tomorrow, Tuesday, in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces.
In Maputo province, bad weather may hit Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude and Manhiça districts, and the cities of Maputo and Matola.
For Gaza, INAM also warns of rains and winds in the districts of Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Chibuto, Massingir, Limpopo, Chongoene, Massangena, Mapai, Guijá, Mandlakazi, Bilene, and in Chókwé and Xai-Xai cities.
The same weather system may affect the Inhambane districts of Zavala, Inharrime and Panda.
According to the INAM communique, there could be strong winds with gusts up to 70 kilometres per hour, moderate to heavy rain (30 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours) locally strong (above 50 millimetres in 24 hours), accompanied by severe thunderstorms, from this afternoon until tomorrow.
INAM says that, at sea, the winds may generate waves up to a height of five metres, south of the 24th parallel south.
INAM advises taking all relevant precautionary measures.
