A South African funeral parlour has abandoned three coffins containing the bodies of Mozambican citizens on the South African side of the Ressano Garcia border crossing, having been refused entry to Mozambique for lack of documentation.
The bodies of two men and one woman have since been taken to the morgue of Komatipoort hospital by the Mozambique consulate in South Africa and the eight people accompanying the bodies were put up overnight in a house belonging to nuns in Ressano Garcia. They were going to South Africa on Monday to regularise the documentation for the transfer of their loved ones’ remains.
Two of the bodies are destined for Maputo province and the third for Gaza.
