The Directorate for Priority Crimes (Hawks) have raided a suspected illegal military firearm training camp in Limpopo.
Several licensed firearms, rifles pistols and ammunition have been seized at the camp, located in a farm in Modimolle.
The Hawks said that no arrests had been made so far and investigations were underway to determine what activities were happening on the farm.
Hawks Limpopo spokesperson Lethunya Muroa said: “It is alleged the serious crime received a tip-off about a suspicious training camp at one of the farms in Modimolle. A sting operation was conducted and during the operation, the team seized rifles, pistols and ammunition believed to be used during the training.”
Last month, 95 Libyan nationals were arrested in White River in Mpumalanga for running an illegal military training camp.
