Sofala governor demands that drugs seized over past two years are burned

The governor of Sofala, Maria Helena Taipo, has demanded the public incineration of drugs seized in the province over the last two years.
The governor believes that this would help discourage the production, marketing and consumption of the substances, and wants the police Drug Enforcement Office to be more pro-active in the matter.
In Sofala, students, teachers, parents and care-givers participated at the International Day of Fight against Illicit Drug Trafficking celebrations at the Manga Secondary School. Alongside sexual and reproductive health counselling, several cultural events illustrating the consequences of drug-taking were presented.
