The barge service across the Búzi river in Sofala province is still suspended as a result of the combined effects of Cyclone Idai and subsequent floods, according to Radio Mozambique.
Sofala government spokesman Adérito Mavie said that the barge still cannot sail, and that the crossing is being accomplished in smaller boats.
“The barge is still not working, but we can say that close to 90% of the roads are already passable,” Mavie said.
