Sexy photos of a Mozambican singer… Yes, the images could just as easily remain simple hashtags on social networks, but, O País reports, it became more than that when, on Mozambican Women’s Day “photographs of singer Yolanda Boa shocked a lot of people” – she having “appeared semi-naked, covering her private parts with the national symbol: the flag”.
Faced with such an attitude, the report reads, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, having taken notice of the images, ruled in a statement that the singer had outraged the nation and she should be sanctioned for it.
“The Ministry of Culture and Tourism manifests the highest expression of vehement condemnation of this act, since the conduct followed by this artist does not in any way confer exaltation on the patriotic spirit of the Mozambicans; on the contrary, denigrates the image, honour and prestige of our beloved homeland in the Concert of the Nations,” the communique states.
“Following this manifestation of condemnation and disapproval, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism undertakes to put in motion the necessary structures for the accountability of the authors of this insult to the national flag (national symbol), that clashes and violates clearly with the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique,” it continues.
O País tried without success to talk to Yolanda Boa, and decided to contact Bander, who explains what happened.
“All I can say is that I lost my cell phone, and we are already looking into the publication of certain photos. Some photos have been posted by us. I am the one who runs the accounts of Yolanda and other artists, but the person who stole the cell phone is using the accounts that are on the cell phone,” he said.
According to the rapper, Yolanda Boa is not shaken, but neither does she feel altogether comfortable at her unexpected exposure.
