The owner of the Lina Tobacco Shop and Perfumery, situated next to the old Xenon cinema in Julius Nyerere Avenue, was kidnapped late on Thursday near her home in Maputo’s Polana neighborhood.
According to Notícias, the kidnappers struck as she was about to enter her home after another day at work but, other than that, there is little information. The police in Maputo say there have been no developments so far.
In fact, Jose Roberto, director of police at city level, told Notícias that the police had not received any complaint related to the kidnapping and had only heard of it via the media and social networks. But he went on to reassure the public that officers were already searching for clues that might lead them to the kidnappers and the rescue of the citizen.
