The Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, João Machatine, travelled to the Kingdom of Eswatini on Friday to meet the country’s Minister of Natural Resources and Energy and discuss the implementation of the Umbelúzi River Basin Agreement.
Minister Machatine’s trip to Eswatini comes in response to recommendations recently made by President Filipe Nyusi and King Mswati III during the former’s visit to the kingdom.
The Umbelúzi River Basin Agreement between Mozambique and the Kingdom of Eswatini was addressed during the president’s visit in the hope of increasing water supply levels to the Greater Maputo area.
