Seven people detained in Manhiça for murder

A group of six individuals have been detained in Manhiça District Command since Friday, charged with torture and murder.
Police in Maputo province say that the malefactors tortured the victim to death, although the circumstances leading to the incident are not known. Police spokesman Emídio Mabunda said he hoped an explanation would emerge during the trial.
Police also reported the arrest of an individual suspected of having killed his girlfriend and buried her body in his own home. Investigations are underway to determine the reasons for the act, although officials presume the crime happened after a lover’s quarrel.
