As part of the celebrations marking Mozambique’s National Taxpayer Day on 22 March, the Mozambique Tax Authority honoured, on 24 March, the companies that excelled in meeting their tax obligations in 2024 being the Best Taxpayers.
The ceremony took place in the Mozambican capital and was attended by government officials, representatives from the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA), the Mozambican Order of Accountants and Auditors (OCAM), customs brokers, business associations, and taxpayers.
Among the award recipients, Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) was recognised as the third-place winner for its contribution to the payment of Corporate Income Tax (IRPC) for the 2024 fiscal year, receiving both a trophy and a certificate.
In the previous year, SPT was also awarded with two honourable mentions by the Mozambique Tax Authority, securing first place in the Global Contribution category for the 2023 financial year and first place in the Income Tax category for the same period.
Having operated in Mozambique for more than two decades, Sasol has maintained a strong commitment to fulfilling its tax obligations, contributing to the national economy through the payment of Corporate Income Tax (IRPC), Personal Income Tax (IRPS), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Petroleum Production Tax (Royalties). This recognition highlights its significant role in the country’s economic development.
