Samora Machel Jr. replied to disciplinary proceedings instituted by Frelimo within the deadline

Frelimo’s Verification Committee has instructed Samora Machel Junior to present his counter-arguments in the disciplinary proceedings instituted over his alleged violation of the party’s statutes, he having run for the 2018 municipal elections as head of list of the Youth Association for the Development of Mozambique (AJUDEM).

Samora Machel Junior has told O País that he had already reacted in the matter.

“I already responded within the deadlines,” Samora Machel Junior said when asked about the disciplinary process he is facing in his party.

Samora Machel Junior said that his relationship with the party and the “comrades” was healthy, and that he remained a Frelimo member despite having different ideas to some of his party colleagues.

“I have ideas and may not have been exactly the same as some comrades within the party, but I think the party is very dynamic and accepts different ideas and that its members can position themselves. I am a member of the party, and I never stopped being one,” he added.

At the time, Samora Machel Junior expressed dissatisfaction with the way his potential Frelimo party candidacy was rejected.
