Mozambique’s National Service of Migration (SENAMI) says a total of 197 Mozambicans have been deported from South Africa and Zimbabwe, for overstaying, APA can report on Tuesday. A SENAMI statement emailed to APA on Tuesday said the border posts of Ressano Garcia and Ponta d’ouro, in the province of Maputo had registered 175 and 19 citizens repatriated respectively from there.
At Machipanda in the central Manica Province bordering Zimbabwe three nationals were repatriated home recently, it said.
In a counter move, the Mozambican authorities repatriated, 44 foreign nationals mostly of Malawian origin for illegally staying in the country.
Of these, 37 had no entry visas in their passports and while the remainder had forged ones.
