South African Airways (SAA) says it is in contact with authorities in the United States (US) to establish when it can resume flights to New York and Washington DC after was forced to cancel flights due to the weather.
At least 19 people have been killed as a result of Winter Storm Jonas and 11 states declared a State of Emergency.
A travel ban is in place in New York ad all roads in nearby New York City have been shut down to all but emergency vehicles.
Spokesperson Tlali Tlali says they will continue updating customers when it has more information….
“We are in constant liaison with airport authorise in the United States for them to advise us when it will be safe for us to commence with our operations. It is a matter we are keeping an eye on and should the situation change, we will resume our flights.”
