Mozambique: EDM urges citizens to stop dumping solid waste at its doorsteps - Notícias
Police are investigating a case of human trafficking after 22 undocumented Mozambican and Zimbabwean nationals were found in the back of a bakkie during a road block on the R21 near Irene, a small township south of Pretoria.
Fifteen children were among those found, the youngest a two-month-old baby.
The driver of the vehicle has been detained for human trafficking while the seven adults have also been arrested for entering the country illegally.
The police’s Noxolo Kweza said: “They questioned the driver who indicated that he was travelling towards Tembisa and he was assisting somebody on this matter. We then detained the driver because he could not give us a proper explanation and we have since charged him with human trafficking.”
