The redevelopment of 21 roundabouts on the Maputo Ring Road will begin next Monday.
The Mozambique Road Network (REVIMO) says the project will implement corrective measures and mitigate the risks of road accidents “by adopting solutions which aim to guarantee signage for the safer circulation of vehicles”.
The works will last for one year, according to a press release sent to ‘O País’, and will include theadjustment of the width of some roadways, facilitating the entrance of the vehicles onto the roundabout (including specific signs about this alteration), horizontal and vertical signage (including pedestrian crossings), the siting of retro-reflective markers (“cat’s eyes”) on the pavement and the replacement of overturned light posts.
