Prime Minister Maria Benvinda Delfina Levi on Wednesday, July 2nd, swore in Roberto André Dove as director-general of the National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries – INICC.
The prime minister said that Mozambique’s cultural and creative industries were undoubtedly one of the most dynamic and promising segments of the national economy and therefore represented opportunities for the socio-economic development through the valorisation of our identity and artistic-business talent.
It was in recognition of this potential, she said, that the government of Mozambique had created the INICC, to boost the cultural and creative industries and transform national culture into a factor of economic growth and generation of jobs and income for Mozambicans.
In this regard, Benvinda Levi recommended that the newly appointed president continue to implement actions that contribute to the promotion of cultural programs and projects, the promotion of creative entrepreneurship and the mapping of the artistic and cultural potential of our country, among others.
Finally, she recommended that the newly appointed INICC president prioritize dialogue with the creative sectors, and increasingly invest in strategic coordination with other public and private entities.
